Bio: I am a 49 year old happily married mom, whose children have left the nest. I have decided to travel around the world for about a year to see what I can see, and learn about the daily lives of others. My husband is not going, so I am following my dream, and doing it anyway. I believe most people are good, and want to find out for myself. I have been fortunate to have been born in a Western country, where women are able to make decisions independently. I suspect that most people are happy with their lives, even though they may be very different. I will find out more on this trip. I expect to start in March, and plan to visit Iceland, Europe, parts of Africa, India, Southeast Asia, Australia & New Zealand, S. America and Central America. Along the way, I will meet up with a variety of friends, experiencing and exploring new ways of thinking, together. I will volunteer on the way, learning along the way. And while I travel this way, I am writing a blog and embracing (or choking) technology. I have made a new set of rules / guidelines to live by and am living my life this way. I am sharing what I am learning with anyone who is interested. It is the beginning of the 3rd phase of my life. The first was childhood, the 2nd was excelling in a career, and raising a family. 3rd is now, and 4th is near the end of life. I get to give back in this next stage. I hope to learn wisdom along the way, and develop new relationships and enrich current relationships.

  1. Hi Pam!!

This is Renee from ENP. It was so lovely meeting you!! I hope your travels have gone smoothly since ENP! I was wondering if you would send me the pics we took during the group photo shoot on our last full day?

Also, I know you mentioned a museum you would highly recommend in Italy…what is it called?

    Sending happy and positive vibes,

    Renee

  3. Hi! Im not sure if you’ll remember me but I met you in Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and we went on a sunset cruise together on the Zambezi River. It was my first night alone in a very foreign place and I wanted to thank you for how friendly and genuinely warm you were and also for your beautiful pocket sized painting you gave to me with the words “Seek Peace, respect others” and the address of your blog. Your generosity and sense of adventure really struck me. I hope that you are enjoying experiencing the world and meeting new people… Let your home be where your happiness lies. Lots of Love, Zoe! xxx

    1. Of course I remember you! I think of you often. I noticed that after the first night when you found your Intrepid group that you looked like you belonged. How was your trip, by the way? My friend joined me in Zimbabwe (I think you met her), and we had a wonderful trip camping for 9 days to Jo’berg)

    1. Hey Luann, Have you narrowed down your travel list? I am still thinking Galapagos Islands, maybe around May or June? I want to be in the states for my incredibly talented daughter to graduate law school sometime in May, but currently am flexible with the dates surrounding the event.
